The New York Junior Tennis League with Ms. Lorraine, in conjunction with Mr. Romeo of the Young Kings and Queens Chess Club, hosted a bouldering quality of life event on October 2 at the tennis courts behind Truman High School in Co-op City.

Both programs have over 50 years of experience in mentoring and bringing joy to local children and youth. With the rise of violence in the Co-op City area, especially at Truman High School, they decided to hold an event to discourage parents and adults in this community.

There were more than 93 people in attendance, including children between the ages of 5 and 14, of whom 33 were parents. There were free tennis lessons and afterwards the kids played chess.
